A summer evening at the manufactory
What happens when a porcelain manufactory turns into a summer dining room?
On August 6, our showroom became the setting for an evening of long tables, summer flavours and handmade porcelain. Surrounded by white sand, cacti, prickly pears, citrus fruits and slices of watermelon, we gathered for the second dinner in our feinedinge Four Seasons series.
The table was set with ALICE in Sand and Coral, layered with CUT BLUE plates and bowls, while our ICE BEBES added playful touches.
It felt a little like summer had taken over the manufactory.
At the centre of the evening was a multi course vegetarian menu by Eschi Fiege of Lovekitchen, inspired by the abundance of the season. Some dishes were even prepared directly in our ceramic kiln, bringing the place where our porcelain is made right into the experience.
But as the evening unfolded, the table was only the beginning.
Between courses, we opened the doors to our workshop and invited our guests to become part of the making process.
Each guest could cast and personalise their own ALiCE porcelain beaker, creating a unique piece to take home as a memory of the evening.
Perhaps that is what makes our Four Seasons dinners special: for a few hours, the manufactory becomes more than a place where porcelain is made. It becomes a place to gather, share, create and enjoy.
